Disturbing Recording Shows Point Officers Are Stabbed in Ambush

Both Sergeants Instants Prior to the Assailant Was Tasered

A police sergeant who jumped to the assistance of a colleague that was assaulted by a blade-wielder received the Monarch's Honor for Bravery.

Sergeant Tim Ansell grappled with 27-year-old Jacob Brown subsequent to he held a knife to the neck of his colleague Sgt Marc Foster.

Brown began the violence as the policemen and their third officer, PC Marcus Wolstencroft, were talking to a motorist following a road collision in that location in mid-2023.

Brown knifed and cut the two Sergeant Ansell and Sergeant Foster prior to Police Constable Wolstencroft incapacitated him with a stun gun.

"Policeman stabbed," PC Wolstencroft stated over his communication device.

Officer-mounted and dashcam recording made public by the agency revealed Brown, who was dressed in black with a hood covering head, run up to Sergeant Foster from behind with a weapon pointed forward.

He struck the policeman who lost balance and dropped to the street, before Sergeant Ansell jumped in and tried to wrestle him to the floor despite being multiple times hit with the weapon.

Police Constable Wolstencroft drew his Taser and awaited a safe opportunity, bringing the confrontation to an end.

Sgt Ansell was heard stating: "Can I get something on my throat now, I got knifed in the neck."

Sergeant Ansell sustained two lacerations to his throat and more injuries to his arms and torso, while Sergeant Foster suffered slash wounds.

Authorities said Sergeant Foster utilized his palms to control his partner's blood loss before emergency responders came.

The latest honor arrives subsequent to the law enforcement team won organizational Valor Recognitions in late 2023 and the John Egerton Bravery Award from the regional union branch in spring 2024.

They were also awarded a North West Bravery Award in mid-2024.

"The responses of each policeman eventually protected one another and ensured no civilians experienced any injuries."

Brown was sentenced to an indefinite hospital order in spring 2024, according to officials.
